Professor Robert Littman first to use the Codex Sinaiticus website

Professor Robert J. Littman, a member of the Classics Faculty at the University of Hawai‘i, has been linked to the Codex Sinaiticus Project from the beginning. He participated in the planning stages of the Project and is currently a member of the Scholarly Edition Working Party.

Currently, he is in the final stages of proof-reading his commentary on the Book of Tobit due to be published in Brill's Septuagint Commentary Series. Tobit being one of the books included in the first release of the Codex Sinaiticus website, Prof. Littman had the opportunity to use the site to compare his own transcription of the Codex Sinaiticus text with the one presented at the website.

Littman wrote "What a wonderful job you have done!!! This is a most magnificent tool. I have gone through all of Tobit word by word, both on the ms and the transcription."
